I’m a Dublin-based writer for children and adults. I compose work in English agus as Gaeilge ó am go ham (and if I can throw in a bit of French or Spanish, I will).
I have a column in the Irish Times that began as an exploration of living with invisible disability that has evolved to track the whims of life. I’m also Writer in Resident for SIRIUS Arts Centre, Cobh.

(I’m a little obsessed with the island as you’ll find out…)
In 2020, I participated in the Oileán Artist Residency, which enabled me to spend two months living on Inis Chléire. On this Gaeltacht Island, I focused on Irish language children’s writing. This work was influenced by the local folklore and the dual feeling of loneliness and belonging, a tale of the island experience. A children’s book I wrote during this period, titled Parthas na nÉan (The Paradise of Birds), was illustrated by a local artist and published locally last Spring (March 2023).

Latest Project
I’m currently querying an English-language non-fiction picture book that explores the sensory system under the sea
(…if that sounds absurdly abstract, it’s basically a poem about sea creatures!)
